Zesty News Lite 1.0 alpha Feature List
Note: These are all features that exist right now. Zesty News is currently in alpha testing, which means that this is not the complete list of features planned for Zesty News Lite 1.0.
Zesty News:
- Organizes new items so that the ones most likely to interest you are at the top
- Is designed for to allow easy reading of items, whether you're online or offline.
- Allows you to view items going backwards in time (sometimes called a "River of News") or grouped by site that they came from
- Allows you to view only the items for a single feed
- Includes several options for storing and displaying a feed's stories, including the ability to selectively rank and group a single feed's items
- Keeps an infinite archive of stories, allowing you to go back to old stories easily by date
- Can import subscription lists from other RSS readers that support OPML export
- Automatically determines the optimum download schedule for a given feed based on how frequently that feed is updated and on what schedule. (For example, a feed that never changes on the weekend will be skipped for the weekend.)
- Allows you to optionally set each feed to its own, predefined downloading schedule.
- Includes convenient browser integration for Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari 2.0, making it easy to find and subscribe to feeds.
- Uses a powerful database designed to handle large amounts of data, prevent data loss and conveniently store all data in a single file.
- Supports Internet Explorer 6.0 and higher and Firefox on Windows XP.
- Supports Safari 1.3 and higher and Firefox on Mac OS X.
- Supports RSS 0.90, Netscape RSS 0.91, Userland RSS 0.91, RSS 0.92, RSS 0.93, RSS 0.94, RSS 1.0, RSS 2.0, Atom, and CDF feeds
